Aaron Baptiste -The Average Joes vs. IBEX game on Wed, Apr 12, 2017 was a playoff game which IBEX lost 6-2 -The IBEX have no more playoff games remaining -A suspended player cannot play on any team while under suspension -Aaron Baptiste is a suspended player -Aaron Baptiste is a suspended player and cannot play on any team while under suspension -Aaron Baptiste is a suspended player and cannot play on any team while under suspension from April 12, 2017 to April 12, 2018 -Aaron Baptiste is a suspended player and cannot play on any team while under suspension from April 12, 2017 to April 12, 2018 including the following teams: -Aaron Baptiste also plays on the Weekend Division III Rangers (9 GP and 3 regular season games remaining) and he cannot play in any games -Aaron Baptiste also plays on the Weekend Division III Wranglers (9 GP and 2 regular season games remaining) and he cannot play in any games -Aaron Baptiste also plays on the Weekend Division IV The Knights (2 GP and 1 Automatically at a Minimum be Triple, if not longer, in length of the Automatic/Minimum Suspension length for the Offence 5 PIM Match Penalty -During a stoppage in play at 1:25 of 2nd period in the Average Joes defensive zone behind the goal line IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste, who shoots right, swings his stick from his right to his left slashing Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie in his upper right thigh -IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste was assessed a 2 PIM Slashing Minor Penalty by the Hockey Canada Certified Referee as per Hockey Canada Rule 8.4 Slashing Section (A) "A Minor penalty or, at the discretion of the Referee, a Major penalty and a Game Misconduct penalty shall be assessed any player who impedes or seeks to impede the progress of an opponent by "slashing" with his stick." -IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste was escorted to the IBEX penalty box by the Hockey Canada Certified Referee to serve his 2 PIM Slashing Minor Penalty as per Hockey Canada Rule 8.4 Slashing Section (A) "A Minor penalty or, at the discretion of the Referee, a Major penalty and a Game Misconduct penalty shall be assessed any player who impedes or seeks to impede the progress of an opponent by "slashing" with his stick." -The Hockey Canada Certified Referee then skates to the IBEX defensive zone to get ready for the impending faceoff -Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie is skating from the Average Joes defensive zone towards his team's players' bench for a line change and will have to skate past the IBEX penalty box -IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste, who sees Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie, is then waiting for Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie and is standing with both of his skates out on the ice just outside the IBEX penalty box which he should have already entered and be in due to his 2 PIM Slashing Minor Penalty as per Hockey Canada Rule 8.4 Slashing Section (A) "A Minor penalty or, at the discretion of the Referee, a Major penalty and a Game Misconduct penalty shall be assessed any player who impedes or seeks to impede the progress of an opponent by "slashing" with his stick." -The front of IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste's body and face are facing the direction of the Average Joes defensive zone which Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie is skating from -IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste, who was holding his stick in towards the IBEX penalty box, then moves his stick out towards the ice towards Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie -IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste is now holding his stick with both of his hands at his hip level with the blade end pointing out towards the ice -Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie is still skating towards his team's players' bench for a line change and is about 6 feet away from IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste as he is about to skate past the IBEX penalty box -IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste then lowers his stick for the backswing and then swings it up and from his right to his left while also extending it forward with both arms as much as possible, since Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie is about 6 feet away, slashing Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie in his face with the blade of the stick -The force of the slash with the blade of the stick in the face of Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie by IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste causes Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie to fall backwards down onto the ice -IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste then enters the IBEX penalty box -Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie, who fortunately wears a full cage, is still down on the ice and does not retaliate -Average Joes #12 Brennan Leslie's teammate Average Joes #10 Graham Taylor then skates towards IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste and both players shove each other -Average Joes #10 Graham Taylor then skates away towards his team's players' bench -The Hockey Canada Certified Referees quickly skate to the IBEX penalty box and instruct IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste to leave the game -The Average Joes players shouted at IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste: "What the h*ll was that?" "Buddy f*ck you." -IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste shouted at the Average Joes players: "I'll f*cking fight you right now you f*cking little b*tch." "Right here. Come on. Right here right now. Right now buddy. You w*ite p*ssy." -An Average Joes player shouted at IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste "Get out of here. It's f*cking beer league. You f*ck." -During the entire exchange between IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste and the Average Joes players the Hockey Canada Certified Referees were standing in-between them while loudly instructing IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste to leave the game: "You can go home. You can go home. You can go home. You can go home. Go home. Go home. Go home. Go home. You're done. You're done. You're done. Let's go. Let's go." "You're done. Have a good night. Have a good night. You're done. See you later. Have a good night." -The Hockey Canada Certified Referees were also the entire time with their arms and hands instructing and motioning IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste to leave the game -IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste then turns around and skates towards his team's players' bench and leaves the game -IBEX #25 Aaron Baptiste was assessed a 5 PIM Match Penalty by the Hockey Canada Certified Referees as per Hockey Canada Rule 6.1 Attempt to Injure/Deliberate Injury Section (f) "A Match penalty shall be assessed any player who deliberately attempts to or deliberately injures an opponent with a slash, high stick, cross-check, butt-end or spear." Hockey Canada Rule 6.1 Attempt to Injure/Deliberate Injury (a) A Match penalty shall be assessed any player or team official who deliberately attempts to or deliberately injures an opponent, official, team official or spectator in any manner. (b) A Match penalty shall be assessed any player or team official who head-butts or attempts to head-butt an opponent with force or who injures an opponent with this action. A double Minor penalty shall be assessed any player who head-butts or attempts to head-butt an opponent but no injury results. A double Minor penalty and a Gross Misconduct shall be assessed any team official who head-butts or attempts to head-butt an opponent but no injury results. (c) A Match penalty shall be assessed to any player or team official that attempts to kick or deliberately kicks an opponent. (d) A player who pulls an opponent's hair or who grabs the facial protector, helmet, or chin strap of an opponent and uses this to gain an advantage or to inflict punishment or injury shall be assessed a Match penalty. A player who grabs an opponent's hair, facial protector, helmet or chin strap, but does not use it to gain an advantage or to inflict punishment or injury shall be assessed a Minor penalty or at the discretion of the referee a Major and a Game Misconduct penalty. (e) A Match penalty shall be assessed any player who uses his facial protector as a weapon. (f) A Match penalty shall be assessed any player who deliberately attempts to or deliberately injures an opponent with a slash, high stick, cross-check, butt-end or spear. 4d. (as of Sep 20, 2009) Any player may be assessed a match penalty at the sole discretion of the officials. Any player who is assessed a match penalty will receive a suspension at the sole discretion of the officials. A first match penalty offence will result in a minimum five game suspension. A second match penalty offence within the same season will result in a minimum season suspension. A longer, season, multi-season, or permanent suspension may result for any match penalty offence at the sole discretion of the officials. No refunds will be issued.
