Tyson Taylor Warthogs - Weeknight Division III South Dec 12, 2017 - 5 Games Warthogs vs. Gorillaz on Tue, Dec 12, 2017 Warthogs: #76 Tyson Taylor - Automatic/Minimum 5 Game Suspension for Hockey Canada Rule 6.1 Attempt to Injure/Deliberate Injury Match Penalty Offence The GoPro High Definition Videos of this incident from the Hockey Canada Certified Officials were video reviewed with our professional video software Frame-by-Frame, Video Sharpened, Vocals Raised, dB Gained, and Zoomed in 400%. Penalty: -Automatic 5 PIM Match Penalty (Automatic/Minimum 5 Game Suspension for Hockey Canada Rule 6.1 Attempt to Injure/Deliberate Injury Match Penalty Offence) As per the High Definition Videos at 1:39 of 3rd period: -As per the High Definition Videos the Warthogs #76 Tyson Taylor takes possession of the loose puck in the neutral zone on a turnover -As per the High Definition Videos the Warthogs #76 Tyson Taylor takes the puck into the Gorillaz defensive zone and skates past the defencemen to go in all alone on a breakaway -As per the High Definition Videos the Gorillaz goalie #0 Tylor Dias tries to poke check the puck away but the Warthogs #76 Tyson Taylor falls forward and scores on the breakaway -As per the High Definition Videos the Warthogs #76 Tyson Taylor falls forward down onto the ice right in front of the Gorillaz #13 Blake Cheetham which causes Cheetham to fall down forward over Taylor and then Cheetham continues sliding right into the boards while down on his hands and knees -As per the High Definition Videos while the Gorillaz #13 Blake Cheetham is still down on his hands and knees after colliding into the boards the Warthogs #76 Tyson Taylor grabs Cheetham's full cage and does not let go -As per the High Definition Videos the Warthogs #76 Tyson Taylor while continuing to grab the full cage of the Gorillaz #13 Blake Cheetham then gets up off of the ice and pulls and twists Cheetham's neck and head upwards and towards the right as Cheetham is still down on his knees on the ice while Taylor is fully standing with enough force to undo the full cage straps of Cheetham's helmet and still does not let go -As per the High Definition Videos the Warthogs #76 Tyson Taylor still does not let go of the full cage of the Gorillaz #13 Blake Cheetham until the Hockey Canada Certified Official arrives and has to physically pull his hand off of Cheetham's full cage -As per the High Definition Videos the Warthogs #76 Tyson Taylor was Automatically assessed the Automatic 5 PIM Match Penalty by the Hockey Canada Certified Officials as per Hockey Canada Rule 6.1 Attempt to Injure/Deliberate Injury Section (D): "(d) A player who pulls an opponent's hair or who grabs the facial protector, helmet, or chin strap of an opponent and uses this to gain an advantage or to inflict punishment or injury shall be assessed a Match penalty. A player who grabs an opponent's hair, facial protector, helmet or chin strap, but does not use it to gain an advantage or to inflict punishment or injury shall be assessed a Minor penalty or at the discretion of the referee a Major and a Game Misconduct penalty." Hockey Canada Rule 6.1 Attempt to Injure or Deliberate Injury (a) A Match penalty shall be assessed any player or team official who deliberately attempts to or deliberately injures an opponent, official, team official or spectator in any manner. (b) A Match penalty shall be assessed any player or team official who head-butts or attempts to head-butt an opponent with force or who injures an opponent with this action. A double Minor penalty shall be assessed any player who head-butts or attempts to head-butt an opponent but no injury results. A double Minor penalty and a Gross Misconduct shall be assessed any team official who head-butts or attempts to head-butt an opponent but no injury results. (c) A Match penalty shall be assessed to any player or team official that attempts to kick or deliberately kicks an opponent. (d) A player who pulls an opponent's hair or who grabs the facial protector, helmet, or chin strap of an opponent and uses this to gain an advantage or to inflict punishment or injury shall be assessed a Match penalty. A player who grabs an opponent's hair, facial protector, helmet or chin strap, but does not use it to gain an advantage or to inflict punishment or injury shall be assessed a Minor penalty or at the discretion of the referee a Major and a Game Misconduct penalty. (e) A Match penalty shall be assessed any player who uses his facial protector as a weapon. (f) A Match penalty shall be assessed any player who deliberately attempts to or deliberately injures an opponent with a slash, high stick, cross-check, butt-end or spear. 4d. (as of Sep 20, 2009) Any player may be assessed a match penalty at the sole discretion of the officials. Any player who is assessed a match penalty will receive a suspension at the sole discretion of the officials. A first match penalty offence will result in a minimum five game suspension. A second match penalty offence within the same season will result in a minimum season suspension. A longer, season, multi-season, or permanent suspension may result for any match penalty offence at the sole discretion of the officials. No refunds will be issued.
