V-Squirrels vs. Beavers on Thu, Apr 29, 2010
The V-Squirrels narrowly defeated the Beavers by a 7 - 6 score this past Thursday evening. Taras Foremsky (2 goals, 2 assists) scored his 50th and 51st goals on the season for the Beavers. James Korth (2 goals, 1 assist), Steve Nielsen (1 goal, 2 assists) and Matt Coad (3 assists) led the V-Squirrels for points. Each team scored a power play goal, and the Beavers scored a pair of shorthanded goals. The Money Shots vs. Cobras on Thu, Apr 29, 2010 The Cobras were victorious 5 - 4 over the Money Shots in a close-scoring game. Brad Loewen (2 goals, 1 assist) and Clayton Hall (1 goal, 2 assists) led the Cobras with three points each. Cam Campbell was the scoring leader for The Money Shots with a pair of goals, and Dennis Mullen (1 goal, 2 assists) was the points leader with three on the evening. One of Mullen's goals was scored while his team was shorthanded. Iron Ringers vs. Double Chins on Thu, Apr 29, 2010 The Double Chins found the back of the net 13 times as they defeated the Iron Ringers 13 - 1. Brian Leong (4 goals, 3 assists) had a super night, while Dave Chan (2 goals, 3 assists), Ian Welwood (2 goals, 3 assists) and Nick Wells (2 goals, 1 assist) each had a multiple goal game. The only Iron Ringers goal was scored in the second period by Metro Burkatsky, who was assisted by Vlad Zhivov. Zig Zagz vs. Brewstars on Thu, Apr 29, 2010 Darcy Nielsen (4 goals, 1 assist) and Cole Fallis (4 goals, 1 assist) combined to score all but one of the Brewstars goals as their team defeated the Zig Zagz 9 - 6. The other Brewstars goal was scored by Mike Loptson. Darcy Nielsen scored 3 shorthanded goals in a row in the third period to give his team a definite lead. Troy Preston of the Zig Zagz scored a hat trick, and Chrystian Hebert was the points leader with two goals and two assists. Chargers vs. Kal Tire on Thu, Apr 29, 2010 Kal Tire shut out the Chargers 12 - 0 this past Thursday evening. Kal Tire goaltender, AJ Toker, faced 10 shots in the shut out victory. Andrew Stanko (5 goals, 4 assists) had a great night for Kal Tire with 9 points. Also scoring multiple goals for Kal Tire were Willy Kapasi (2 goals, 3 assists) and Andrew Hebert (2 goals). Steven Vany (1 goal, 2 assists), Bryan Humphrys (1 goal, 1 assist) and Ryan Dowithn (1 goal, 1 assist) each scored a single goal in the win. Chuck Norris Roundhouse Kick vs. Salt Water Cowboys on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 Trevor Mann netted a sudden-death overtime shootout goal to secure the Chuck Norris Roundhouse Kick a 5 - 4 win against the Salt Water Cowboys. Brian Thom (1 goal, 1 assist) and Michael Clowes (2 assists) led the Chuck Norris Roundhouse Kick in points, and Dallas Manning (1 goal, 2 assists) was the point leader for the Salt Water Cowboys. Manning's goal was his 23rd of the season. Hopewell Hornets vs. Black Sox on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 The Black Sox narrowly defeated the Hopewell Hornets by a 7 - 6 score in a close scoring, Wednesday evening game. Justin Samaska had a phenomenal night for the Black Sox, scoring 5 goals. Sheldon Mackarenko (2 goals, 2 assists) provided the other two goals for the Black Sox, his second of the night was the sudden-death shootout game-winning goal. Craig Stuart led the scoring for the Hopewell Hornets with a pair of goals. Integral Energy Services vs. Shoguns on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 The second period proved to be the pivotal point in a game between the Shoguns and Integral Energy Services. Both teams were equally matched in scoring in the first and third periods of the game, each scoring a pair of goals per period. In the second period, three different Shoguns players (Li, Chan and Hwang) found the back of the net. Brendan Brodie of Integral Energy Services netted his 27th goal of the year but his team was eventually defeated 7 - 5 by the Shoguns. Calgary Hotspurs vs. Magpies on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 Jason Jensen scored his 19th goal of the season in a sudden-death shootout to win the game for the Magpies as they defeated the Calgary Hotspurs 4 - 3. Adam Terlesky (2 goals) of the Magpies scored his 50th goal of the season, and Brandon Fleece also scored his team. The Calgary Hotspurs goals were scored by Rhyan McDavid, Garrett Baki and Jeff Carriere. Rebels vs. Champion Concrete Cutting on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 Champion Concrete Cutting dominated the Rebels in a high-scoring, Wednesday evening match. Chris Maloney (2 goals, 4 assists), Travis Dwinnell (3 goals, 2 assists), Ian Voth (3 goals, 2 assists), Jon Roach (2 goals, 2 assists) and Adam Ludwar (2 goals) each scored multiple goals for Champion Concrete Cutting. Marcel Douville (2 goals, 2 assists) and Chris Patterson (2 goals) led the scoring for the Rebels. Raiders vs. Alberta Glass Vipers on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 The Raiders had a strong start to their game and triumphed over the Alberta Glass Vipers this week by a 9 - 5 margin. Leading the Raiders in points were Steve Beagle (3 goals, 2 assists) and Dennis Kim (2 goals 3 assists). Vic Narang of the Raiders did his part by assisting on four goals. For the Alberta Glass Vipers it was Kyle Fagnon (2 goals, 2 assists) who led the team with four points. Also scoring for the Vipers were Ryan Maley (1 goal, 2 assists) and Mike Peterson (2 goals). Absolute Bulldogs vs. El Fuego on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 Chris Muldoon scored his 8th goal of the year in the sudden-death shootout to give El Fuego a 3 - 2 victory over the Absolute Bulldogs. El Fuego players Nick Small and Rob Sakamoto (1 goal, 1 assist) came from behind to score two goals in the third period to tie the game at two all. Scoring goals for the Absolute Bulldogs were Jamie Hunter and Wes McKenzie. McKenzie's goal was scored on the power play as El Fuego was fighting off a minor penalty for tripping. Prairie Seals vs. CANA Worms on Tue, Apr 27,2010 Five different players collaborated to score five goals for the CANA Worms as they defeated the Prairie Seals 5 - 3. Scoring for the CANA Worms were Josh Field (1 goal, 1 assist), Jesse McLean (1 goal, 1 assist), Scott Dendy (1 goal, 1 assist), Jay Peipmann (1 goal, 1 assist) and Dominic Levesque. Field's goal was scored on an empty net with 8 seconds remaining in the game. Jason White led the Prairie Seals in scoring with a pair goals. Maguire's Smooth Edge vs. Big Guns on Tue, Apr 27, 2010 The Big Guns dominated over Maguire's Smooth Edge to record an 11 - 3 victory. Michael Kolla scored a hat trick for the Big Guns, while Kelly Thompson (1 goal, 6 assists) led the team in points. Also scoring multiple goals for the Big Guns was Jason Smith (2 goals, 1 assist). Evan Bayer of Maguire's Smooth Edge scored all three goals for his team and earned himself a hat trick on the evening. Punishers vs. Spies on Tue, Apr 27, 2010 The Punishers led by one by a goal scored by Ian Broughtan in the first period. Each team scored a trio of goals in the second period as Gord Kennedy and Thad Palin (2 goals) scored for the Spies, while Ryan Young, Jeff Owel and Leighton Klassen scored for the Punishers. The Spies opened the third period scoring with a shorthanded goal by Gord Kennedy, but the game winning goal was scored by Ryan Mclean of the Punishers on the power play for a 5 - 4 victory. Blades of Steel vs. Good Times on Tue, Apr 27, 2010 The Good Times had a really good time as they defeated the Blades of Steel 9 - 2. Mark Jonker (2 goals, 2 assists) and Chad Metselaar (2 goals) both had a multiple goal game for the Good Times. Matthew Chan and Alta Nguyen scored goals for the Blades of Steel. The Good Times outshot the Blades of Steel by a wide 35 - 10 total. Band of Brothers vs. Flying Hellfish on Tue, Apr 27, 2010 Stan Wong (1 goal, 1 assist) of the Band of Brothers faced off against Flying Hellfish goaltender Josh Wildey in the sudden-death overtime shootout and scored to give the Band of Brothers a 4 - 3 victory. Tyler Lynem led the scoring for the Band of Brothers with a pair of goals, and Jeremy Yee also found the back of the net. Scoring for the Flying Hellfish were Devon Zwack, Chris Hintz and Simon Luu. District 5 vs. Pillagers on Tue, Apr 27, 2010 Sean Leeder (3 goals, 1 assist) and Mike Bannister (3 goals, 1 assist) of the Pillagers were instrumental as their team defeated District 5 by a 6 - 2 score. Pillagers goaltender, Justin Barnhart, turned aside 27 shots (.931 save percentage) in the win. Glenn Steele and Matt Chapman scored the goals for District 5, while Matt Acheson had a pair of assists. Clusterpucks vs. Migrant Squad on Tue, Apr 27, 2010 Stephan Goudreau (2 goals, 2 assists) led the Migrant Squad in points as his team was victorious in a 6 - 3 final score against the Clusterpucks. Jeremy Inman (2 goals, 1 assist) also had a multiple goal night for the Migrant Squad. On the other side of the ice it was Murray Bladon (2 goals, 1 assist) who led the Clusterpucks in goals and Greg Barber (1 goal, 2 assists) who also finished with a respectable three point evening. Platinum Rats vs. Puck Pimps on Tue, Apr 27, 2010 The Platinum Rats attempted a third period comeback, but fell short as they were defeated by the Puck Pimps by a score of 5 - 3. The Puck Pimps led by three goals going into the third period when Steve Walker and Geoff Lambert of the Platinum Rats each found the back of the net to put the score within one goal. Dom Niro (2 goals) scored the final goal of the game to sink the chances of a comeback for the Platinum Rats. QMax Cougars vs. North West Stars on Mon, Apr 26, 2010 The North West Stars had a huge third period in a 6 - 3 victory against the QMax Cougars. The game was scoreless after the first period. In the second period, Chris Preston (1 goal, 2 assists) and Mike Laframboise (2 goals) scored for the North West Stars, as did Tyler Fox (1 goal, 1 assist) and John Sands for the Cougars to tie the game at two. JR Comstock of the Cougars opened the scoring in the third period before four unanswered goals were scored by North West Stars Mike Laframboise, Scott Hammond (1 goal, 1 assist), and a pair by Duane Cuku (2 goals). Extreme Xecutioners vs. Samsquanches on Mon, Apr 26, 2010 The Samsquanches narrowly defeated the Extreme Xecutioners in an overtime shootout on Monday evening. The Xecutioners staged a comeback in the third period to score 5 quick goals to tie the game at 7 goals aside. The game entered a sudden-death shootout where Mike Schiebelbein of the Samsquanches squared off against Darren Law, the Xecutioners goaltender, and found the back of the net to give his team a 8 - 7 win. Buds vs. Ambrose University College Lions on Mon, Apr 26, 2010 The Buds protected their net and shut out the Ambrose University College Lions by a score of 8 - 0. Jared Beatty, goaltender for the Buds recorded the shutout by stopping 14 shots in the victory. Tyler Morrison (2 goals, 1 assist) and Jason Kent (2 goals) led the scoring for the Buds, each scoring a pair of goals. InCom Barons vs. Off in the Woods on Mon, Apr 26, 2010 The InCom Barons defeated Off in the Woods in a high-scoring match this past Monday. Ryan Almond (5 goals, 1 assist) scored five goals in the victory for the Barons, and Sean Reynolds scored a hat trick. Chad Johanson also had a stellar game for the Barons with a goal and six assists. Scoring for Off in the Woods was Curtis Peppinck (2 goals, 1 assist) and Nathan Adams. Silver Bullets vs. Bruins on Mon, Apr 26, 2010 The Silver Bullets and the Bruins battled to a close final score in their recent game. The first goal of the game was scored in the second period by Jamie Major of the Bruins. From there, the Silver bullets took over with a goal by Kyle Fagnon, followed by a pair of third period goals by Jeff Fox. In the end, the Silver bullets defeated the Bruins by a score of 3 - 1. Shockers vs. UFA Snipers on Mon, Apr 26, 2010 Curtis Billsten (2 goals) and Tuuduu (Nolan) Poucette both had a pair of goals for the UFA Snipers as they defeated the Shockers 5 - 4 in an overtime shootout. Andrew Knouse (2 goals), led the scoring for the Shockers, scoring two goals. In the sudden-death shootout it was Curtis Billsten of the Snipers who found the back of the net to score the game winning goal for his team. Ice Storm vs. Wardens on Mon, Apr 26, 2010 The Ice Storm came down on the Wardens in a 5 - 4 shootout victory. Brett Staniforth of the Wardens scored a late third period goal that tied the game at 4 goals aside. Then, to cap of his evening with the hat trick and score the game winning, sudden-death, overtime shootout goal, it was Brett Staniforth who found the back of the net again to signal the Ice Storm's victory. Mike Danyluk led the Wardens in scoring with a pair of goals. Warriors vs. Calgary Archives Renegades on Mon, Apr 26, 2010 Chris Bannister and Dwayne Simpson both scored a pair of goals to lead the Warriors in scoring, while Ryan Kerr (1 goal, 3 assists) led the team in points as the Warriors defeated the Calgary Archives Renegades 7 - 4. One of Simpson's goals was scored while his team was on the power play. The Renegades goals were scored by Austin McKinnon (2 goals, 1 assist), Andrew Tavender (1 goal, 1 assist) and Dan Popp. Kings vs. Jets on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 The Jets played a strong first and second period and were able to protect their lead in the third period to defeat the Kings 8 - 5. Steve Koenig (3 goals, 1 assist) scored a hat trick for the Jets in the victory. Kings player, Carl Timmer (2 goals, 1 assist), led the Kings in scoring with a pair of goals. The Kings gave a valiant effort to get ahead on the scoreboard by outshooting the Jets 41 - 33, but Jets goaltender, Geoff Hwang, was solid between the pipes. Admirals vs. Iron Maiden on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 Iron Maiden and the Jets faced off in a high-scoring, closely matched game on Saturday night. Iron Maiden's Jeff Sobb (5 goals, 2 assists) led the team in scoring while Judd Casper (3 goals, 2 assists) and Dave Lovsin (3 goals, 1 assist) each scored hat tricks. Corey Doherty (3 goals, 4 assists) and Adam Forbes-King (3 goals, 3 assists) each scored hat tricks for the Admirals. Iron Maiden defeated the Admirals 11 - 9. TimberCreek Electric vs. Tea Bag of Justice on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 The Tea Bag of Justice triumphed over TimberCreek Electric by a score of 5 - 1. Ian Gillies (2 goals, 1 assist) of the Tea Bag of Justice scored two goals to increase his number of goals on the season to 48. Ryan Thompson (1 goal, 1 assist), Mitch Moore (1 goal, 1 assist) and Tyler Mcdonald also scored goals for the Tea Bag of Justice. TimberCreek's only goal was scored by Dave Lavery. Rats vs. Wolverines on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 The Rats had a strong first period that contributed to their 6 - 4 victory over the Wolverines. David Barrette (2 goals, 1 assist) led the Rats in scoring, while Steve Jervis (2 goals, 1 assist) had an equally decent game for the Wolverines. Both teams experienced issues with penalties in the second and third periods which led to four power play goals, two scored by each team. Morley vs. Sculptures on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 The penalty killing lines for Morley and the Sculptures were on fire on Saturday evening as the teams combined to score 6 shorthanded goals. Sean Leeder (7 goals, 3 assists) of the Sculptures was a force to be reckoned with, leading his team in points. Trendon Labelle (4 goals, 1 assist) led Morley in scoring, while Keon Holloway (3 goals, 3 assists) led the team in points. Holloway's third goal of the night was his 48th goal of the season. With 40 seconds remaining in the third period, Sean Leeder put the puck into the empty net to signal a 10 - 8 Sculptures win. Red Hawks vs. Manimals on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 Jordan Belcourt of the Manimals and Trevor Murl of the Red Hawks scored in the first period to tie the score at one. Carey Dumont and Satesh Bassit each scored goals in the second period to put the Manimals up by two.
